Really seems to me that after ALL the training a storm trooper has to go through to get to the point where they get to call themselves a storm trooper they would know not to have their fingers on the trigger until they are ready to fire their weapon.  And I am pretty sure that is a no regulation tattoo.

Just sayin.

Well...  When the empire starts losing, it gets harder and harder to recruit decent troops.  Just like the Amerikan Empire, they lower recruiting standards and start taking any warm body they can find.

DH and I saw episode VII last night.... Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow! So glad Lucas was not at the helm as he would no doubt muck it up. Awesome, just awesome movie!

Yes I took my son and grandson to see it.

Movie wise it was great.  Lots of action, not to many special effects.

Story wise...well I do not know what J.J. Abrams has against sticking with the established storyline and I feel he did a great job in the Star Trek movies where he changed the time line creating a new version of events with a good story as to why everything is messed up.

Star Wars on the other hand has a well established storyline with over 75 books taking up the story starting immediately after Return of the Jedi.
Plenty of trilogies that just begged to be turned into movies.

Other than that, and my usual minor movie gripes, it was a good movie worth the price of admission.

I saw it today. Ben Solo fell far from the tree. But then he got his ass handed to him by a newbie girl with an antique lightsaber.

A good start and a decent reboot without making a reboot.  We'll see how it goes.

Finally saw it.  J. J. Abrams is the master at making homages to movies from our youth - and that's about it.  I don't think it will resonate with the kids, though.  They've got 20+ Marvel/DC Comics movies (and counting) to sort through.  Not sure if any kids 20 yrs. from now will still have their opened BB-8 droids laying about.  As an example, bro-in-law recently found Millenium Falcon, minus Han but Chewie action figure.  Some of the parts were gone but it still had the landing gear ... from a 1977 purchase.

I should add for any doubters:  Do you think the kids care about the backstory of:

Han's son
Leiea's son
Luke's daughter
... can't figure out the Snook/Snoke giant/thing/dark side
