Jake,  You can go up to your original post and click  "modify" and add a summary of what you now know, completely erase your link or modify it any way you prefer, although I think adding what you now know (leaving the original) is the best as it leaves readers with an understanding of what transpired.

I know nothing of the situation of the supposed events in the link but I also know that scopes is not necessarily to be trusted as the final word.

When you do post a link, it is always better to add some commentary or excerpt a brief portion of the link so that readers have at least a short idea of what the link is. Just posting a link without the summary is not considered polite here.

Just remember that there probably isn't anyone at TMM who has not posted something like this at some point or another... I've posted several myself without really looking too closely at it first. Keeps us all humble - well, most of us.

Jake there is also the "Flounce Off" option. It takes some work but does work.
In your case it being only one post you want to "remove" then it can be done from your own keyboard.

Go to the original post and click the modify button.

Highlite all of what you don't want seen and right click delete will remove it from the page.

The SMF programing doesn't like blank pages so put an asterisk (*) on the page and hit the save button.

Poof ... all gone.

OR you could "strike through" all of it and say something like "Oops Nevermind".

All in all though ML is correct we here are all human with all of the attendant foibles thereof.

I don't read minds. Snopes has been a useful resource over the years. Of course I don't take them as the gospel truth. I take only my personal experience as that. But if a web site I've never seen before makes a fantastic claim, and Snopes disagrees, I'm going to require additional confirmation to believe it.

It is probably my way of using strike thru.  And, the snopes thing, I believe that it was a team of man and wife....but don't know where they got the intel
