Well had a nice little talk with the county building dept.

Need to do some paperwork before I can turn some dirt over.

God I love the Government  ;p

Well been awhile, been doing some land surveying, marking out where I want things.
also got a new truck, it is a 3.4 ton 4x4, that should be able to move material that I need.
slowing going, but still moving.

As long as you are still moving forward!  Man, I really, really, want a truck.  Budget says otherwise at the moment...  Someday!

look at a use truck, that way, you do not have to worry about scrapes and dents.
picked mine up for $800.00, not pretty, but runs and it already has a goouseneck hitch

knobster,  I agree with ADM. Find a used shortbed 4x4 and use various trailers. You can even rent a dump trailer in many places. I would love to have a dump trailer. Dumping wood, gravel, everything you can think of.

A gooseneck trailer is great because it puts the load directly on your rear axel but straight pull trailers work well also.

$800?!?!  Did it have an engine?  Cheapest trucks I can find in my area are well over $4000.  Even those built back in the 90s.  Sheesh.

I suppose if you don't, you might be a little slower on the draw, but you'd still shoot them. Better to be judged by twelve...

I've just read too many bad thing about Ebay and Craiglist encounters. I'll do my shopping elsewhere, that's all. I don't want to shoot anyone... can you imagine the paperwork alone? Egads.

the secret to craigslist, is not to go alone, bring a friend, but it also depends on where you are and the other person.

Would help to be near a larger population center too. :) I looked at both Ebay and craigslist a few times. Absolutely nothing listed for this area. Makes the other sort of a moot point for me.  Not that I'd risk it anyway. Each to his/her own. :)

Aaaah.  1977 eh?  Excellent.  Everything in my area is 1990s or newer.  I'll have to search harder for older trucks.
