Another major snowstorm supposed to come in next week. I may not be able to get my car out of the drift until June at this rate.

Woke up to 12 inches of new snow, with more still coming down.

You got that right, FDD!!  I now have two foot drifts in my driveway, and at least 10 to 12 inches of new snow since yesterday evening. Still snowing, but not hard right now. Here is the current situation:

Washington's Birthday
Snow. High near 10. Wind chill values between -7 and 2. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Tonight
Snow likely, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -12. Wind chill values between -16 and -26. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday
Partly sunny, with a high near 7. Wind chill values between -16 and -26. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around -13. Wind chill values between -18 and -23. North wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Low forties today. Predicted 68F high on Wednesday. Only one sub-freezing night in the 10-day forecast. Spring's a comin'.

Going for a low of -12 tonight. Still snowing... all day today, heavy at times. The man came to clear my driveway this morning, and now it doesn't look like he was here. I asked him why he was plowing while it was still snowing... but he said he has to keep up with it at least some or it will get too deep for his little bitty tractor to push. What do I know? LOL

Spring is still quite a distant dream for us here.

February thaw is here.  Mud, mud, mud.  Of course the dog loves it!  My wife... not so much.  Lower 40s over the next few days with nights dipping below freezing.  Of course I'm giddy about putting plants in the ground but I know Ol' Man Winter is not done with us.

Still -11 degrees now at 9 AM. Still snowbound. The county plowed the road... and totally blocked both of my driveway entrances. Not that it matters much... I'm not going anywhere. My neighbor will come tomorrow and plow my driveway, and then another neighbor will take me to town. And, BTW, I help them out with gardening and make bread... I have a wonderful community here.

48F now. Expected high today of 69F. 29F tonight. High tomorrow, 33F. Looks like maple sap flow next week, freezing nights and above freezing days.

I was out in sandals and long sleeve shirt yesterday afternoon.

- 17 this morning at 6:30AM. Sun's up, and it's clear. Going for a "high" of 20 today. Luckily, no wind.  Supposed to warm up a bit before the weekend. But I won't hold my breath. It was 47 degrees in my bedroom this morning. Too damned cold.

I remember a few winters back, when it was 50F in the house. On noticing that it was -20 outside, I decided my heating system was doing pretty well to keep it 70 degrees warmer inside than outside.

Just wish I had a "heating system." I have several radiator type oil filled space heaters and the wood stove upstairs. It's a real challenge to use those to maintain a livable temperature in the winter, much less in sub-zero weather. I'm happy if I wake up to find the upstairs between 50 and 55 degrees. The wood stove heats it up faster than the radiators, but not terribly fast. I wear lots of layers of clothing this time of year. It's my hands and feet that suffer if it is below 50. Don't know how I'd fare if it got much colder. I can't plug in more than one heater per room... blows the circuit breakers.

We've had an ice storm here for the last few days. Slicker than anything. I have plenty of wood now and food so staying inside, except for ice skating to the outhouse. Whew.
