I never met Jerry, although my son did. He is MIA in the drug war. Twenty plus years and I don't know if he is alive or dead. Fuck the Gov.

Bless you Brother!

If you look closely, you will see me in several photos or you will hear me in the spirit of the music.

We helped stop the war, promoted peace, love and brotherhood.

No apologies!

When my brothers came back from the war, I bought them beers, got them high or loaned them my women.

No Apologies again!
Not a one!

Peace, love and Brotherhood.

Good flick, I watched it all and every song is burned in my memory, over these years. I too helped us get out of that war, I went to special classes to learn how to get a conscientious objector draft card and learned it was unconstitutional and we are not to be under United Nations directives.

Here's the quintessential anti war song of the time...

We used to sing that in 12 grade P.E. while running laps.

Yes Bro.  Thank you for singing. In HS I was not aware. At all.  I had to get high before awareness happened.

I was really into music and recording and didn't bother too much with the grass. Even now I use "Rick Simpson oil" but I take it through the back door (suppository) so I don't get paranoid, I can't stand the paranoia.

Here's one of the best live recordings with the Solomon brothers from Vanguard Records using an Ampex stereo two track recorder and two Neumann mics direct to two track at Newport in 64

A Patriot
This is an excerpt from a letter I wrote to my Granddaughter.

"That’s right Granddaughter your Grandfather changed from a clean cut, suit and tie professional into a long haired, bearded, pot smoking, anti war activist, whose major goal was now to “blow up the TV, move to the country, plant a little garden and try and find “Love”., as John Prine so beautifully sang. I sang the song, followed the dream and also did what I could to help end “that damn stinking war”.

I went to peace demonstrations, lit candles for the soldiers, prayed for their safe return, signed petitions and bought soldiers beer when I ran into them or got them high, which they accepted and thanked me, both for the beer and the high and for demonstrating against the war, which they acknowledged, at least the ones I ran into, as wrong and evil. They had lost more friends and comrades that anyone and most resented the sacrifice their generation had made, although all of us honored the memory of “fallen friends”. I was not one to accuse them of anything, having become so close to being one of them.

I remember one demonstration in the Midwest, where I actually “rolled bullets for the revolution” to stop war, as we called it. I was in a throng of fellow hippy demonstrators going to an anti-war rally, when from a partially opened door a fellow spirit went “psst, Can you roll joints?” I answered yes and he motioned me into a room of about 20 or 25 people, all sitting down, passing joints and actively
rolling up pot cigarettes. There were dozens of boxes of papers, bags and bags of manicured marijuana, all donated by local businesses and dealers and a frantic activity to roll thousands upon thousands of joints to be passed out at the rally.

People of all types, kinds and colors were doing their part, rolling, rolling, rolling and putting the finished “bullet” into cigar boxes to be shared with all who were there at the protest to “Stop The War. As some left, others came in to keep the assembly line producing.

I sat and did my part, rolling hundreds, until my fingers could do no more, then I too left and joined my fellow friends at the demonstration, to chant “Hell No, We Won’t Go” “No More War” and “Stop The War”. Maybe a band called “Country Joe and The Fish” were playing their anti-war song “I feel like I’m fixing to die rag” or maybe we were singing it. I don’t remember everything Graddaughter, as you might expect, after a hour in a smoke filled room, doing my duty."

So... This  is WHAT I  DID,   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ6INAayEJI

Thanks Tahn, I am not going anywhere, I am sharing my last days with you going down my memory lane.
I have enjoyed it tremendously, I think you liked Judy Collins? Check this out...

Doesn't get better then that!!

Tahn, I too have had a professional recording studio and I am just sick of the crappy music I had to record to pay for it all. I was lucky to get my money back, rap is crap, music. Never again !! I've done a lot of things, I drove an 18 wheeler for 30 years with out any accidents or moving violations... and I am tired.
I have cancer that moved to the lungs and the brain, you know. But this has been fun tonight, thank you!

I can't believe I found them on line. I bought this in a drug store in Roseburg Oregon in 1972. I got it because I liked the line up of musicians and instruments listed, and it was great!
