[This is a rant. Forgive me.]

Right now I'm listening to some rough mixes of parts that I have to play at a session tonight.

I've been hired to play on some bad albums, and this isn't the worst by far, but sometimes guys...   :BangHead:  This thing's been in the works for two years! The new engineer has it right, I think: it's not about getting it done for this guy, but about the thrill of feeling like a "studio guy" and being involved in the process. And that feeds in to a very obvious pre-existing simmering megalomania. Just makes my head spin to think of how much money this fellas going through.

Funny thing is, it's fun as hell to play this stuff the first time, but this guy thinks he's in the Richie Valance movie and he wants eight thousand perfect takes... and then "let's try the same thing with that guitar and this amp, just to see how it sounds, y'know." And since he rented five guitars for the session, we do that times five. multiplied by whimsical amplifier switch-ups.

But you see, I get paid by the hour, so it's ok that he booked ten sessions when three would have done it. But, wow. This guy is gonna drive me sane!

Yes, I really do feel much better now, thank you. ^_^

Oh man!  I gotta be careful watching what you post.   The kid deleting a bad guy had going down all sorts of dark trails.  I may be an emo/ goth and don't know it............

LOL IDK.

Normally, Emos are into bands like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Lost Prophets, Owl City, etc...

Skrillex is Dubstep. Having only just started to listen to this genre, I don't know much about it or the subculture attached to it...

I didn't recognize a single name there, I guess I don't fit that group.    Prong, Nail, Chili Pepper, Queensryche, are more the bands I am familiar with.

Nightcore is not so much a particular DJ or group, as it is a Meme. It may have started out as one, but now there are hundreds of people remixing other tracks and making new ones in the Nightcore style... An existing track can be "Nightcored" to make this style of music. Most Nightcore music is Candy Rave, but there are also some in the Dubstep, Electronica, Trance, and other genres.

How drastic can the change be? Well, let's use Zombie Love Song by Your Favorite Martian as an example:
Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCVMuevcCvY (Hip-Hop x Rock... IDK)
Nightcored: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjr7Cka4N74 (Pop-ish)

Nightcore - Free

Nightcore - Colors of the Rainbow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ3PwALb2LE&feature=related

Nightcore - Tokyo Girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i2Svg-1JuA

I have a nice collection of Nightcore and other Electronic Music... 144 tracks excluding repeats and the 20+ I just downloaded...
