Rap with a message:

Bitch Bad by Lupe Fiasco
It's about how kids perceive song lyrics and about respecting women. The video draws a parallel between the disgraces of the past and the disgraces of the present in an attempt to jolt the African American community into acting to put a stop to the wrongs.

Words I Never Said by Lupe Fiasco and Skylar Grey
I think this is the most Anarchist song ever written. Beats all the country and rock and folk songs I've heard so far.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22l1sf5JZD0

You may want to sing along:

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said
I can't take back the words I never said

I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit    <<<<< See that?
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip?   <<< world's largest war budget, where does it all go?
9/11, Building 7, did they really pull it?                          <<<< hints at false flag

Uh, and a bunch of other cover ups
Your child's future was the first to go with budget cuts
If you think that hurts them, wait, here comes the uppercut
The school was garbage in the first place, that's on the up and up   <<< astute observation

Keep you at the bottom, but tease you with the upper crust
You get it, then they move it, so you never keeping up enough
If you turn on TV, all you see's a bunch of what-the-fucks
Dude is dating so-and-so, blabbering 'bout such and such         <<<< this is why I hate watching TV

And that ain't Jersey Shore, homie that's the news
And these the same people supposedly telling us the truth
Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist                           <<<<< Yes, they are.
Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit        <<<< because he's reliant o the Jewish vote

That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either           <<<< Voting is killing by proxy
I'ma part of the problem, my problem is I'm peaceful
And I believe in the people
Yeah

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said

Now we can say it ain't our fault if we never heard it
But if we know better, then we probably deserve it
Jihad is not a holy war, where's that in the worship?
Murdering is not Islam, and you are not observant

And you are not a Muslim
Israel don't take my side, 'cause look how far you've pushed them
Walk with me into the ghetto, this where all the kush went
Complain about the liquor store, but what you drinking liquor for?

Complain about the gloom, but when'd you pick a broom up?
Just listening to Pac ain't gon' make it stop
A rebel in your thoughts, ain't gon' make it halt
If you don't become an actor, you'll never be a factor   <<< get off your ass

Pills with million side effects, take 'em when the pain's felt   <<<|Addled people aren't able to resist
Wash them down with diet soda, killin' off your brain cells    <<<|
Crooked banks around the world would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss payment they can take your home away       <<<student loans are the same

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said, never said
I can't take back the words I never said

I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion, that's why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth    <<<If you use pgp keys and tor just to send an e-mail...
So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even telling you

Sometimes I'm like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I'm locked inside a cell in me, I know that there's a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said

"Hesitation Marks" by Nine Inch Nails (NIN).

NIN is new to me, though I'm sure I've heard some of their tunes on the radio. I got the "Audiophile Mastered Version", downloaded from their web site. Nicely recorded. Best listened to VERY LOUD with a subwoofer. Listening right now through my newest/best headphones, mostly to test out the headphones. Have already discovered that some of the cuts will be great for dancing (he said, dancing in his chair).

I have had that McMurtry album for many years (2002 it came out I believe) . Been listening to him a long time. An old song of his is called "12 O'Clock Whistle" from a good record he did "It Had To Happen" which I always liked. The guy can put some words together in a dylanesque way. Shoot I dig about all of his stuff. Of course his daddy is Larry McMurtry.

One thing about moving to the backwoods is that one rarely gets the chance to see their favorite singer-songwriters in small venues like I used to do when I lived in Fort Worth. It is nice to know that there are others who enjoy country folk music.
