Two friends came over a couple of years ago and were sitting, sipping and picking on my front porch, bout dark when I recorded this on my pocket camera. Good memories and tunes. Friends and music are essential in life. Whiskey sometimes helps.

Stuff my Girlfriend likes...

(Best version I could find on short notice of the specific song. Please bear with the talk-show hosts.)

Very nice. :)

Agree wholeheartedly with your final sentiments, despite trying to keep the whiskey at a minimum these days. Friends and music thankfully have few side effects. :D

SuperSatellite -- Our Lady Peace

I've read the bible,
I've read Dylan,
I'm reading people now
because it is much more chilling...

I sit on a satellite
with the stars made of gold
there's life through that hollow lens.

I know supersatellite
I watch the traffic,
I find the seeds

There's one man in particular
who's not what he seems
I can't focus in
on the lies in his head
he's convinced that his blood is blue
but it's red

supersatellite

Nothing dazzles me,
I am in his dreams
nothing is shocking,
transparent human
being...

Also recently, Pylon

the 80's Athens, Ga band? i was living in Savannah, GA back then and i haven't heard anyone mention them in many years.

pylon, love tractor, bar-b-q killers, b-52s..... those were good bands. swimming pool q's did some cool stuff too (but i think were actually from Atlanta).

maybe i just had a bad attitude at the time but i couldn't stand REM.

The true sounds of silence, at least in the city.  Building crackling and humming in the wind, the pop of dampers in the circulationg/heating adapting to load. The mutter of the passing Harley............

I also make a note that cafiene free diet pepsi with O cal, carb or fat sums up marketing pretty well- they are selling you nothing of nutitional value for how much?  (It was in the way in the lunch fridge.......) Oh! salt! 1% of RDA!

Most of the time news is about the same old violations of the first principles of consent and golden rule with a dash of force thrown in........ with just enough duct tape to be believable.

Lots of different things...

Vivaldi, so many more.
James Galway (fantastic flautist )
Andrea Bocelli - best Italian tenor ever
Andres Segovia - classical guitar
And many different disks that combine nature sounds with classical music. I don't think they are made any longer, but my collection of "Nature Quest" will give me joy for a long time.

Won't bring out the Christmas music until Dec. 24. Then will listen to The Messiah and others.
