All,
Below is the revised Registration Agreement and Moderation Policy. We've learned a lot over the last year and the changes below, mostly to the moderation policy, reflect the actions and methods that are working. If you have any questions, let us know!

MISSION STATEMENT
The Mental Militia exists to further the cause of liberty, autonomy, and sovereignty of the individual human being in a world controlled by governments.
INTENT
The Mental Militia forums are a place where active freedom seekers can share useful information, exchange news, and enjoy each others' company. We discourage purity-posturing, and name-calling. We aim to be reasonable, but above all, we aim to make TMM a place where people who genuinely seek to live free can exchange useful news and information.
If you have any questions or concerns about our moderation policy, please contact a moderator or administrator.
TMM's RIGHTS
1. Civility: TMM asks that all participation in the forums be civil and respectful. Posts which are defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, or violate another individual's rights may be deleted.
2. Illegal Activities: TMM asks that you refrain from advocating illegal activities. Posts advocating illegal activities may be deleted.
3. Copyright Material: Posting of copyrighted material (including pics) in its entirety is not permitted. Instead we ask that you supply a "tease" quote and a link to the material.
6. Organization: TMM has categories and subcategories of forums devoted to particular subjects. TMM retains the right to move posts to more appropriate categories, and to reorganize the forums.
7. Deletion: TMM retains the right to delete any portions of the forums and their contents.
8. Privileges and Features: TMM retains the right to add or remove features and privileges from the forum.
YOUR RIGHTS
TMM pledges these rights to all forum members, past and present, in good standing or not.
1. You have the right to your words. You may change them, copy them, and republish them as you see fit. However, note that this is a publicly viewable forum, and by the nature of the internet, publishing your words here essentially gives TMM "first publishing" rights. Once published here, your words no longer have first publishing status. TMM does not claim exclusive rights to your words.
2. You have the right to submit to a moderator any posts on the forum which you feel violate this agreement.
3. You have the right to discuss with a moderator any actions that moderator has taken.
4. You have the right of confidentiality when speaking with a moderator.
YOUR PRIVILEGES
TMM grants these privileges to present members in good standing.
1. You may start and respond to threads and posts in any of the forums according to your membership status.
2. You may create and edit your profile and signature.
3. You may search the forums.
4. You may view and post events to the calendar.
5. You may log in, log out, or stay logged in at will.
6. You may edit and add to the wiki.
7. You may view forum statistics that have been made available to participants.
8. You may view and search the member lists.
9. You may create and vote in polls.
10. You may delete or alter your account.
LIABILITY, ETC
Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries.
REGISTRATION
You have the ability to choose your username. We ask that you keep the name appropriate. You agree to never give your password out to another person, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree not to use another person's account for any reason. We also recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.
Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded.
Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.
MODERATION POLICY
In order to enforce the Registration Agreement and encourage the community to build itself, the moderators may take the following actions:
1. A moderator can delete any post started by a Provisional Member without notice or consultation. Provisional Members must post five replies before gaining the privileges of regular Members (which includes starting their own threads).
2. A moderator can delete any post by any Member that violates the TOS, but the mods are strongly encouraged to talk to the poster and get them to edit their post to fix it. But if that Member refuses or is not available, the mods can use the delete button. Mods can use their discretion as to how long to wait for a response.
3. A moderator may propose revoking privileges, rights or membership of a Member. The proposal must be voted on by all mods, and remains open until all mods have voted. Mods can take as long as they like to vote. Once all mods have voted, the results will be publicly posted. Only a unanimous vote will result in action.
4. Moderators may not lock threads or edit posts. Editing posts is a privilege reserved for the post author.
5. Moderators may sticky or un-sticky posts that are relevant to board interests at their discretion.
6. Moderators may merge duplicate topics or move topics to more appropriate sub-forums at their discretion.
7. Moderators may post warnings privately to Members or publicly in threads which may be in danger of violating TOS or inciting problems.
8. Moderators are not mediators. They are not required to intervene in personal disputes. If a dispute threatens the community moderator action may be necessary but voluntary resolution by the Members is encouraged and preferred. At their discretion, moderators may post suggestions on how to resolve a dispute.
9. Moderators are required to publicly post actions they take in the Bulletin Board including warnings, deletes, merges, and thread moves.
10. Moderators are also Members and have all the privileges and rights of Members. They are not required to be fair, objective, or withhold their opinions when acting as a Member.
