Title: Hundredth post
Post by: clarence on March 09, 2006, 04:06:48 pm
on this special occasion, :laugh:i decided to expand on one of the lines in my signature.

Les tyrannnies d'aujourd' hui
se sont perfectionne'es;
Elles n'admettent plus
le silence, ni la neutralite'.
Il faut se prononcer,
etre pour ou contre.
Bon, dans ce cas,
Je suis contre.

--Camus

and the translation:

Today's tyrannies
have perfected themselves;
they tolerate neither
silence nor neutrality.
One must proclaim oneself,
for or against.
Well, in that case,
I am against.

take care,
clarence

Hey, I just read that in "Molon Labe!" a few minutes ago!  What a coincidence.

Hey, I just read that in "Molon Labe!" a few minutes ago!  What a coincidence.

i had that quote in my notebook and seeing it in Molon Labe prompted me to put je suis contre in my sigline. i think that the quote is a fragment from an essay but i'm too lazy to spend the time to look for where it came from and i don't know whether it is by Albert or Jean-Pierre Camus.

take care,
