The fight begins...

It's Julian Heicklen who was charged with jury tampering, not me. For passing out FIJA information in front of a courthouse. Hard to see how this case is not going to be about the age-old right and duty of a jury to judge the alleged law as well as the alleged law-breaker.

Well, Bill, be sure to keep us informed. This could be interesting. I suppose they can ignore any laws they like, but it's going to be a tad harder if the info is given in a court of law.

Holey mackerel! Do they dare try this in front of a jury?
It would seem to require a hearing of all of the evidence,
which would HAVE to include a full FIJA disclosure,
which would lead anyone with two functioning brain cells to a NOT GUILTY verdict.
Could start a trend.
Could undermine the King.

And there's the rub. Voir dire, French for jury tampering, is used to remove all brain cells from the jury pool.

But I still think that as soon as the prosecutor understands what he's up against, he'll drop all charges.

Julian says he had a supporter in court when he didn't appear for his hearing. They are now only charging him with a Code of Fed Regulations (CFR) violation of distributing pamphlets without a permit. This is like giving him a parking ticket. No jury though, I guess that's their purpose here, not to give him a chance to be in front of one.

The little scum: of course they don't want a jury trial with all the jury education efforts we have going on in NY state, focused on NYC.
HE does not need a permit to distribute pamphlets, anyway.  That matter has been settled since, oh, 1776 or so.

Pond scum=taxeaters.

Should be interesting to read about "how" any specific Jury had been tampered with, let alone how handing out information, to be accepted, or rejected, amounts to tampering, it appears that the State is trying to have it both ways in desiring 'impartial judges of facts" to then reject facts they may find inconvenient, however such mental gymnastics are de rigeour for the State.
