Minarchism

The idea that government should remain extremely limited, and only in order to protect the rights of the people living within its geographical limits. As a complete state of anarchy is commonly believed to be impossible without chaos, minarchism is thought by many to be an acceptable alternative.

Unfortunately, history has proven even small governments tend to grow, and to desire ever more power and influence over their population. Recognizing this, Thomas Jefferson believed a rebellion should happen every 20 years or so. However, not all believe the rebellion should necessarily be a bloody one.
