Main Battle Rifle

  • A rifle manufactured and intended to be in near continuous use. IE: made to withstand repeated and/or rapid firing without damage to its working parts. Almost always semi-automatic operation, as one pull of the trigger fires a round, and another is automatically chambered.
  • A rifle made for "combat". IE: "military" use
  • The rifle one has designated to be their "main" rifle in any "battle" that might arise. IE: "That 30 carbine is my MBR for TEOTWAWKI."
  • Also has a subset term: MBBR which is Main Battle Bolt Rifle. Simply a bolt action rifle instead of a more modern semi automatic rifle.
