A little while ago I read this Streetsweepers book.

This book is really for the fans of the shotgun. It's not to say it doesn't have any value for the novice. It tells about what combat shotguns are and what their uses are.
For the beginner or someone who don't really care, probably the biggest recommendation the author make is capacity. Number of rounds. That's one of, if not the biggest one, in regard to combat shotguns. Hard to argue that point.
Probably the biggest surprise to me would be the semi-auto rifle over or under a either a pump or semi-auto shotgun combo guns. I was aware of the military AR-15 type rifle with the grenade launcher, off course. And the movies improvised guns. I supposed it makes sense given the versalities of the shotgun. I've mostly seen the single shot versions of the combo guns.
The author does goes into the history of the shotgun with the Muskets and the Blunderbusses of the time. How those led to the present day shotguns and all their problems. Why the shotguns evolved as they did and how to make them relevant for today's battlefield.
This book was printed a few years ago, before the Keltec KSG, which I'm sure the author would have panned had it been available then. However there are ex
amples in the book that you could infer what the author might have thought of it.
Recommended only for big fans of the shotgun. I believe there are better introductions for beginner and non-fans alike elsewhere. Learn about shotguns and guns in general elsewhere, then go to this book if you end up wanting more. Especially given Paladin's prices.
