Goodbye Internet, and Thanks for All the Fish
« on: June 20, 2012, 09:17:56 AM »

The past month has been a difficult one for me. Lost a week of work to adrenal burnout (aka coffee lobotomy), four excruciating twists of my left ankle, tree fell on house, and now my health insurance is changing to make my daughter's Lyme disease care much more expensive. I've been a wreck, hardly able to work, tempted to eat my shotgun.

Yesterday, I got an idea that I hope will make it possible to continue living and working. I'm going to withdraw from the political internet, as much as possible. That means that tomorrow, I'll delete the "Bill St. Clair" account here (but not my posts). I'll keep the "wws" admin account, so that I can fix stuff until somebody steps up to take over my administrative duties.

Nothing personal against anyone. I just need to recharge and stop my slide from anger into hate.

Oh, my goodness, Bill. I'm terribly sorry. Good thoughts and prayers coming your way... I hope you will find peace and joy soon.

Remember that many of us care about you... and stay in touch when/if you can. We'll miss you terribly.

But why delete your account? Just inactivate it and come back when you are ready. :)

But, in the end, I live and therefore I am. I don't need any other person's permission to live or defend myself. I don't need anyone's vetting of my intentions or sanity, nor approval for the self defense tool I choose or how I carry it.

I don't NEED to explain myself. I don't NEED any reasons at all.

We'll miss you Bill.

It seems like life is hell bent on handing out dog shit* instead of lemons these days.

Maybe that will work. I'll think about it, and decide tomorrow.

Bill,

Go get some rest. We will most likely still be here when you have your energy back.

I totally understand.  One can only have so much input.  I mostly avoid the news in general and the reports of horror I find here.  My soul can't take it all the time.
Take care of yourself and your family first.

I've considered doing the same thing.  It gets tiring being right all the time.

Indeed, take care of yourself.  Step away and recharge.    No rash decisions.

Sorry to hear about the troubles Bill. I think we all suffer from burnout at times.

Bill, I totally understand, I take little vacations all the time to keep things from piling up too much. Do what you gotta do, we'll be around when you come back! It's so easy to get burned out since all the news seems to be bad these days, and life's "little challenges" tend to get lumped in with the larger issues we all face. I try to keep my personal life separate from the world at large so I can deal with the personal. After all, that is the only part one can actually address when it comes right down to it. Screw politics when stuff needs to be done at home!

Prayers for you and your family. There is always a seat for you at the TMM table. Your place settings shall be kept in place even if you're unable to attend regularly

So how much does it cost per year?

Would a handful of TMMF be able to “take over” with a shared hefting of the bill and the time?

Would or could we find that handful to take the beast and give you rest?

I could likely rustle up something.

By all means take the time and make the adjustments you need to cope and heal.   I hope you can come back soon, but come back in any case.
