Want to join a beat-up old ex-Navy SEAL, ocean sailor and book writer on a real-world covert cyber operation? I knew you did. So here’s the deal.

The idea is a national clandestine psyop, using my first novel as a vehicle. On next Thursday, March 1, Enemies Foreign And Domestic will be put into Amazon Kindle’s free library, for a period of up to five days.

Where EFAD’s free download promotion will be different from those of the thousands of fantasy/romance/vampire novels currently offered on Kindle, is that I’m simultaneously coordinating a mass plan to ensure that Operation EFAD goes hyper-viral on all constitutionally-oriented, freedom-loving, and Second Amendment websites and blogs at the same time.

I, on the other hand, have been a big fan of Mr. Bracken's novels. I'll take this as a good reason to re-read the first one.

Well, the rumor is that you don't need one, just need the app from Amazon and you are supposed to be able to read it on most anything.

The best way is to download the app to both the device and your desktop (or laptop) - then when you buy or order it at Amazon from the PC, it is automatically downloaded to the device (if that's what you choose).  So far, I've not found an app at Amazon that isn't tied to either MS or Mac... so I'm out of luck there, but can still download it to my android tablet... just with a lot more effort.

I may do that. I looked through the book once and did not like it at all... but it still seems like a poke in the eye to TPTB, so worth downloading anyway.

I found his book to be fairly well done, fairly realistic, especially to the way the "terrorist strike" at the stadium set up TPTB's legislative coup at the beginning of the first book. (No spoiler there, the snippet on the back of the book covered it quite thoroughly.)

Actually it doesn't take a lot of effort to download kindle books to an android tablet AFAIK. And Google Chrome has a "web app" that lets you read kindle books from ANY computer no matter what OS it runs as long as it has google chrome installed on it.

EDIT**** Apparently it also works with Firefox for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, as well as Safari

May not... once I figure out how. So far, I have not figured it out. There are no instructions with this stupid thing. sigh... and the downloaded "guidelines" are - so far - completely useless.

Is your android tablet connected to the internet? And does it have the Kindle for Android app installed? If it does then it's just a matter of signing into your amazon.com account and it should sync all of your Kindle Books.

My first thought was that they were making this 'free' in order to log IP addresses and user info to gather data on people who would be interested in downloading this subject-matter. Probably not but...

Got the Amazon thing figured out, just need to do that for some of the others now. This windows/linux incompatibility just makes it harder.

Got my copy this morning. Started reading it. Yay!

Bracken wrote a missive yesterday entitled "Gangster Government, and Sakharov's Immunity." This essay highlights the atrocities of Fast and Furious, the Gunwalker operation on which Vanderboegh and Codrea have been reporting for the past year or more. This is the reason for Operation #EFAD.

Has anyone been able to download this without a Kindle Prime account?

Finally found where I had seen the idea that this download was only for the "premium" accounts at Amazon. This is from the original website link below.

JM, I am only putting EFAD into the “Kindle Select” program for now. This allows anybody in “Kindle Prime” to download books in “select” for free. It also allows authors/publishers to put their “select” program titles into the free promo deal for up to 5 days out of everny 90. But one serious downside of putting titles in “select” is that you are guaranteeing mass-piracy and loss of control of the work. So for now, I’m just putting EFAD into select.

It might be on cnet.com?  I forget where I finally managed to download it, but the application wants to know my account information for amazon.  That means I have to start an account with amazon............
