Federal Agents Demand Customer Lists From Mormon Food Storag

"Oath Keepers has learned that federal agents recently visited a Later Day Saints (Mormon) Church food storage cannery in Tennessee, demanding customer lists, wanting to know the identity of Americans who are purchasing food storage from the Mormons. "

What say you Oath Keepers... how concerned should we be? Does anyone have more articles, or contacts about this issue? I'd love to see something without an anonymous source.

Thanks in advance!

Wow. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, thanks for the reminder that the LDS does sell to the public. There are some
LDS wards around here, and it might be worth while to contact them and see
what's available.

Interesting. I did a search and found over at FR this lady's blog on what her child's School assignment was in Knoxville, TN during the discussion about the Oath-Keepers board information.

Obviously I don't know the particulars:

"My daughter's Social Studies Assignment this week - She HAD to take a picture of what food we had in the Pantry, Freezer and Fridge along with a picture of her family!"

http://sherriequestioningall.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-daughers-social-studies-assignment.html

My daughter is in middle school.  2 days ago she had a Social Studies assignment that she HAD TO DO!  She had no choice as she would get an F if she did not do the required assignment!

What was that assignment?

She had to take a picture of our food pantry and the food in it and she had to take a picture of our Freezer and Fridge with what amount of food we had, how much was spent on food per week and she had to bring in a picture of her family!

It really bothered me and I did not want her to do it, but she got upset and said she had to do it and that is was just for comparing to food people eat in other countries!

I allowed her to take the pictures and take a picture of her and I for the project.

Now I wouldn't have put this amount of information out because it took one search to find the location of the request (school). This does seem intrusive.

I would have taken the "F". After all, that is the first letter in the word Freedom.

BTW - The OathKeepers site is down at this point.

I just tried to get on the OK site...when it didnt work I came over here.  LOL its like the back up.  Anyone been in contact with Stewart or any of the board members?  BTW I'd taken a picture of my mini fridge and one bag of cereal.  I would also give them a pic of someone elses family with my kid photoshopped.  Nosy buggers.

I have tried time and time again to access the Oathkeepers website and nothing.  Interesting that this comes about just as they release information concerning the Feds bothering the Mormons.  I have received no update from any members or from the board of directors in regards to this.  I, among so many others, would really like to know what is going on.  If this is an attack, then this is pretty darn serious for all members and affiliates.

GREAT IDEAS!!!  Maybe go a step further and badly photoshop them... maybe even put human faces on the three bears with their porridge.

No, it's a terrible idea. If you have too much* food, you get yourself on a terrorist watch list. If you show insufficient* food, child protective services shows up at your door with a couple of goons. And if you force your child to abstain from participating in the project, you get both. It's a no-win situation.

*"Too much" and "insufficient" are legal terms that can be quantified at the discretion of the evaluator.

Glad to see the sites back up. :)

I'm glad that the LDS wards choose to do business cash only for this reason. But there are plunty of privately owned businesses that have records, I'm curious if they have been contacted as well or if this LDS ward was a single case (for now).

The folks at survivalist blog are saying the story is false.

The story has been pulled because the cannery employee who told the tale is now denying it all.

We have pulled this story about the Mormon cannery being visited by federal agents because the source of the information at the cannery is now denying that he ever told us that event occurred.

From now on, we will NOT post any such story based on what we are told by other people unless, and until, they are willing to go on video or at least on an audio recording with their info.  That way, in case someone starts to crumble under the public attention or other pressures, and wants to deny what they told us, we have video or audio proof.

We get all kinds of scary intel, all the time, and we rarely pass it on because we don’t have confirming documentation.  In this case, we were relying on a confirmed eye witness who is now denying it.   We will not do that again without a recording.

Another update...

This pepper blog did a good job of sifting through the mess in a rational way.

Puzzle Piece #6: The Oathkeepers.org story has been pulled and Oathkeepers.org has even addressed the fact that the story was pulled and why—they were very blunt as to why, even in light of the embarrassment that came with pulling such a story. Frankly, that’s when I really started to wonder if there wasn’t some accuracy to the story. While there are those who would accuse them, Alex Jones and everyone else who posted this story, as being nothing more than liars, the original source of intel was reported to have withdrawn his assertions. That just didn’t sit right with me. These guys are already having to battle fiercely to keep and grow their audience and they’ve all invested huge sums of time, effort, and personal expense to get their message heard. Would they really risk it all just for the sake of one single story?

Puzzle Piece #7: Rand Cardwell personally communicated with me on this matter. He stated that after directly communicating with his initial source of information, the testimony was recanted. Do you really think that if YOU were friends with a tough guy, Desert Storm Veteran, retired Marine Sergeant, like Rand Cardwell that you’d recant on something so significant as this without some serious motivations to do so??!! Veterans watch out for each other, but Marine veterans have an even more animalistic, super-power loyalty to each other. (If you know a Marine, you know what I’m talking about.) His source of information was a fellow veteran. A recant of this story, which would ultimately embarrass Oathkeepers.org and anyone else who put stock in such a story, certainly would not happen willy nilly…

Very interesting. The feds leaned on a Marine to change his story? Just wow.

Thanks for posting that link to preparednesspro, Klapton.  Good article on this whole thing, and has caused me to locate the LDS Cannery in my area.
Not Mormon myself, but if they will sell to non members, I will gladly do business.

and yes, I find the whole leaning on people to make them recant their story ominous and, as always, disgusting.  Then again,we are talking about the Flea Bitten Indigents.
